Best would be talk with local body shop. The older adhesives might not be available now due to EPA and VOCs.
I helped restore a Lincoln a few years back but don't remember what we got for the top.
Also... Don't use a heat gun, use a hair dryer to soften the area prior to gluing. Heat gun gets too hot and if you are not well experienced with it, the heat gun can damage the area very quickly.
